When we had a last breakfast meal in Ramadhan 1426H we decided to have dine-out. But we don't have any idea where we are going to have dinner, till a memory popped up in my head and remember a resto with Vietnamese cuisine. So we three of us decided to have a try at this restaurant.
This is really a new kind of cuisine for us, so I ordered :
1 beef curry
1 glass of mint juice--this is interesting really and taste different
while my wife ordered :
1 chicken basil
1 glass of mixed strawberry and other fruit juice--- this also is very tasty as well

Then nearly finished our dinner we decided to order Sago something I don't really remember its smooth shredded ice with melon and some "sekoteng". Well it just like es kacang but its different.

Most of dishes served with noodles, that time we didn't have mood to have some noodles. But this new restaurant in Bandung give me more choice to have dine-out place. We spend about IDR 75.000 for both of us. Nawra didn't order anything coz she was so sleepy that time.
This place will be recommended for you if you want to test something different. Also this restaurant serves vegetarians dishes.

Before I never noticed this cafe. Till one day one of my colleague calleed me and arranged for a meeting. I heard this name mentioned but I did not think that is "blend cafe" which located just at corner of intersection Madura and Ambon st.
The place was so cozy, dherish and so fresh. Off-course a new contemporary simplicity style applied for interior. I didn't get time to much to pay attention for menu. But I did order Ice Mochacinno and was taste great. Anyway I will come back someday to explore more. The new atmosphere that I like so much. For you in groups who want to hang a round with homie feeling. I think this cafe is very much your good choice. So see you there

It was 20th Sept. 2005 I had to attend Bona ICT Center invitation for launching event. I was so damn busy in office and my baby daughter was sick because of alergic some kind of antibiotic. So I was going to chase 14:00 flight to Jakarta coz the event itself at 14:00 so I thought would be appropiate time. But I cannot get 14:00 flight then have to catch 16:00 flight but somehow CN235 the fleet I was suppose to take was never show up.
Announcement said that I had to go to Merpati counter and the officer said that the flight from Merpati is cancelled and changed to DERAYA. All passanger moved/changed ticket to DERAYA.
I wonder if they will give me some change because DERAYA cost cheaper about 20-30 thousands rupiahs. But they didnt do that....
so much for MERPATI SERVICE.... !
I didnt intend to fly with merpati but it was KALSTAR that I was interested with. But ATR-42 was overhauled that time so theres no flight that day.
So scare .... inside small plane with shaky shaky sit...

This is one of very favorite place to eat seafood in Bali. Warung Ramayana located in Jimbaran. You will be sitting on sand beach at night. Watching lights from local housing across the sea and landing aeroplanes at Ngurah Rai Airport. And hear continously waves at the beach.

They only serve bake or barbeque cooking. So all you have to do is to choose which fish and how much you want. They will cook your choice of fishes with baking or barbequeing. Rice and baked potatoes will come along with your order. Also Kangkung pelecing and some kinds of sauces.
This place I think the cheapest place I can get for seafood dining.
We had :

1kg Shrimp
1.3 kg Kue Fish
1 kg Shell
0.6 kg Squid
2 bottle of beer bintang
1 bottle of softdrink
2 bottle of water
4 pieces coconut
all costed me IDR 398.500

On the way back to hotel most of us felt asleep. THat means we had fully stomach hehehehehehe

I haven't been to this place more than 2 times but on last visit I had dinner here. It was DMMS treat. It is certainly a nice place to dine in. I can assure you that you will have healthy food (they actually put big mark of "NO MSG" on the menu) and affordable menus. But if you bringing companions to have a serious talking/discussion forget this place and find another ! Here the music is always so loud but if you don't have any discussion/meeting that will do along having your meal.
Unfortunately this restaurant is serving porks/HARAM food. So whenever I visited this restaurant I just ordered fish menu. Anyway Australian imported beef attracted me so much, its so juicy sirloin/tenderloin/tbone all looks very tempting. With choice of six sauces served with creamy mesh potatoes or pasta and mixed vegetable served in very very good pricing. Also they have some varieties pudding such banana pudding with caramel sauce for dessert. Yummy.... I guarantee you even you are a foreigner you will enjoy your choice menu.
Also they have wine if you are wine lovers. I am not. Staffs are so casual but they are so helpful, sometimes have to pay attention if those guys are waiter or visitor.
Wall decorative things very artistic and some paintings hung.
For a figure, it was about IDR 400,000 for 4 persons dinner with WINE. So what do you think ? call me and ask me to accompany if you need hahahahaha

Seringnya saya lihat orang muslim, (terlihat dari jilbab yang digunakan) biasanya ibu-ibu atau wanita muda rasanya saya ingin langsung bertanya ke mereka apakah mereka tahu dan menyadari kalau BreadTalk itu HALAL atau HARAM.
Sepengetahuan saya karena saya pertama kali tahu kalo BreadTalk itu HARAM adalah sewaktu di Singapore. Waktu itu di Indonesia belum ada BreadTalk. Well walaupun aromanya sangat menggiurkan tapi tak tergoda lah... buat apa jauh-jauh ke Singapore untuk mencari rezeki malah makan sesuatu yang HARAM.
Kadang heran saya Singapore adalah negara dimana MUSLIM bukan mayoritas tapi mereka sangat melindungi sekali orang MUSLIM, di Indonesia belum kali ya.... mudah-mudahan cepat terlaksana.
So any friends here will clarify if BreadTalk in Indonesia HALAL or HARAM ?

I registered this kind of premium services that BCA (Bank Central Asia is one of the largest network Bank in Indonesia) has offered to some customers. And today 15 August 2005 I have been asked to give some more unfilled information that it should be filled at registration form. I thought on my last visit was all of forms is filled out. I think customer service lady must have forgotten to ask me to fill this form. Anyway it was not a problem at all actually. But then I have a bank transfer had to be made today. It was a RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) transaction to BII. After finished filling up all forms, the lady just give me queue number and it was 42. So it was 36 is the last queue number that served at that time. Man, all customers seemed really taking their time. From what I observed that they have already 4 tellers which is is more than usual queue but they dont have non-cash teller only. Each customer would take probably about 10-15minutes to be finished serviced. That it left me about 30-60 minutes waiting then. BCA Prioritas has been selected as premium banking, we have different room where place all customer service and tellers. The room itself is air conditioned and they provide tea, coffee, cakes (it was bolu kukus that day), news paper, bloomberg TV and some more hospitalities. But really for me thats all not I really wanted. I want to be served properly and quickly. It is pissing me off when I had to queue long to get some services. Bank needs our money, customer money so I cannot take the reason for long queue to have a service.
Then something came up in my mind, coz I have TAPRES account so this Bank has a separate line queue for TAPRES only. I had to go down to 1st floor from 5th to see if this queue line is long as well. When I reached the line it was only 1 person who was already in teller. So this is much better I think because I thought it would be take about another 2-3 minutes. Then right 2 minutes this guy left from teller and my RTGS Transaction only took about 3 minutes time. Then finished.
So much for BCA PRIORITAS.... maybe today is not my day :)

I have converted Mentari number to Matrix at 27th July 2005. Everything went smoothly till 11th August 2005. Suddenly all outgoing call cannot be done. Including SMS as well. So I guessed the operator barred all outgoing call. Then I will have to suspect that I haven't pay for July billing, but when I came to INDOSAT Cust Serv that theres some stupid things that IM3 done so they block all outgoing call and SMS. The lady said that it was because from authorization division hasn't proof my account for this convert. And they tried to call my Flexi all time and cannot get thru. If they think clearly that if I am out town how can I get the Flexi signal on ??? Why did they not call my MATRIX # ? It was with me all along.

And 222 is supposed to be INDOSAT call center. But when you dial 222 its hard to get someone to answer your call and solve the problem. It happened to me too. After few hundreds dials told me they are all busy finally I could talk to a man at call-center. Funny thing that the lady sound keep telling us that Indosat serving 24hours for this 222 call center. Then stupid things happened again this man cannot solve and give a solution/reason why my number get barred. He said that I had to go Indosat Cust. Service at BEC Bandung.

I was in Jakarta and I had to go long way to Bandung to furnished this thing. Fortunately I had to go back to Bandung at next day. But this unpleasant things from Indosat still bugging my mind. How can be INDOSAT such a big operator would have this kind of poor customer services ??? I just cannot understand... Do you ?

When it was about more than a year ago I asked all my friends where to stay around Kuta Bali it was end up with The Oasis Kuta. The references came from Uman Madiprasodjo and DMMS. Those guys are my buddy.
Anyway... last visit to Bali and it was a launching for Nexus series smartBridges. After finished the event we move to this hotel from Sanur Paradise Plaza. It was like a rendezvous. Off-course I know hotel Manager, Mr Fajar Asmara. Last year when we visited this hotel we were all enjoyed stay in The Oasis so after gathering sB customer which held at this hotel as well. Because of that we extended our stay here, but maybe it was a peak season (Was it a peak season in August ??) this Hotel Manager sent us a letter that if theres any possibilities we can be transfered to another hotel. Hahahahahhaa NO WAY MAN !..
We were all refused to have transfered to another hotel.
Man, we bought their banquet and stay about almost a week and they wanted us to be transfered. So I came to Hotel Manager and refused this offer then said to him that if he transfered us to another hotel we will never visit his hotel again ever !. It was well said of me. The manager obey our demand. hehehehhehe

Anyway that was a long time ago but this made a faster booking over phone to hotel manager. When I called him, he sort of forgotten me. But when I reminded him about transfer to another hotel at last year, it did ring a bell. And he gave me a corporate price and actually we were happy to have that rate.

So we booked for 2 rooms, I supposed to share the room with one of my staff but he refused and choose to stay with other staffs in another room.
Anyway it was a splendid time we stayed at this hotel.
There is a thing that if you reach this hotel at first time you will be shocked this hotel has a unique entry path from Bakung Sari Street (main street). It leaves you about approx. 2.5 Meter width alley. If you drive a Mercedes, BMW or Jeep forget it... Cannot park near the hotel, you have to leave your car at Bakung Sari Street. Unless you ride a HD it will be very suitable to get your bike parked near the hotel. We were lucky because we rented Toyota Avanza so that alley still give us space to enter the hotel.

One day in afternoon we had an idea to take some pictures of this hotel. Then we had to wait for the right time because I thought it would be much more beautiful scenery when it was less light. So we had a very good time taking some pictures and it was not so bad... For us which are all not professional photographers the result is almost like some professionals.

Baron, my buddy who stayed in Bali told me that he could print those pictures and that gave us a chance to show hotel manager to see our pictures of his hotel. So Baron managed to print some pictures and the result was so so beautiful. At the next day I show these pictures and Mr Fajar Asmara like the pictures. We might ask him for some reimbursement as hotel vouchers and a first class privilege booking. But it was not dealt till now. Anyway I am sure Mr Fajar Asmara, the hotel Manager is keen enough to give us some rewards.

All the things here are great except for some few things, TV is too small size I know people wont be mind but if you have to see watch 14" screen from a corner it is really killing your eyes. They should change to a bigger one 19" or 21" should be better. Our room TV was not working properly, the sound is not out even we set to highest volume and Vertical Roll problem. We had complained about this but they didnt make any changes till we checked out. Ok it was not a big deal anyway but the should have a spare unit right ?
Breakfast Menu was not vary so much. But I think that what all foreign country tourists having every morning, for this kind a low rate I would say it is more than enough. We have discovered a restaurant called "Nikmat" nearby the hotel. And it is a halal food stall, and also is very cheap pricing.

At the last night we spent in Pontianak Anto took us to Sagala Herang Cafe, not sure what that means but if that words derived from Sundanese Language it means "everything clear". It could be the owner is Sundanese. Hehheeh anyway. Me and Anto ordered Nasi Goreng Seafood and share Satay Kambing. While other 2 guys ordered Ikan asam manis dan Bakar ikan something, I don't remember the name it was a local fish I think. Anyway we had been so tied up with working at the day and we were very very starving. Anyway beside only dusty table, the waiter himself is so friendly explaining everything what we ordered. It took about 15-25 minutes waiting to have our order ready to be served. But when we were waiting for our dishes, some girls just finished their exercise from gym that located just behind this cafe. So we didnt really mind to wait our dishes.
Foods and beverages are OK I guess... except that the light is almost dark.

If you are traveling domestic and using terminal 2 now you can wait till boarding time at this executive lounge. The place now is totally upgraded. Cozy sofas, hot and cold drinks, cakes and others can be found here. Even mushala and toilet are so clean and tidy. It is really heaven. Even for smokers they have separate smoking room. We had 6:15am flight it was too early coz this place just open from 5:00am, we reached this place at 4:30am hehehehehe... anyway its worth of waiting. Yummm ... freshen up urself before flight

Last night after waiting for long queue traffic jam at the end of fly-over Pasupati we had a dinner at Raja Rasa Restaurant. They mostly serving seafood. The Parking lot should be able to fit about 20-25 cars was so full. I had to put is as valet parking. Then when we entry the building all table in first were taken, no wonder coz the car in parking lot was so many. Then we had to go to up-stair. The have actually good stairs it was wide nice lean and comfortable stairs. They the waiter greeted us and pleased us with a nearest table to the main entry in 2nd floor. After that we ordered :
2 white rice
1 Crab black-paper
1 kailan ca
1 kerang hijau
Because people coming by just behind our table so often we felt that the floor was swaying when they were passing by. So we asked a waiter to change to another table which located more further from the path where people coming. Fortunately we could find a nice table almost in the middle. Our order coming to table after waiting almost 20-25minutes. It was quite long actually but since they were having so many visitors we could understand.
The tea they were serving is very poor. I mean this kind of restaurant must have better way serving hot tea, also they must change the tea itself. Good tea in Indonesia doesn't cost you much. We have so many varieties to choose.
Anyway all foods and beverages are served very good. That tea I was complaining is complimentary drink I think. Coz it doesn't cost you a cent. But we had finished all foods we ordered. It was nothing left behind, clean except some white rice. For you who want to eat much seafood, please avoid rice/other carbs so you can freely eat more. If you like so much seafood Raja Rasa is one of restaurants you must visit. If you need a company just call me anytime.

Ya itu sebetulnya saya sudah kapok cuma PT Telkom cukup berhasil merayu saya untuk menggunakan service FLEXY CLASSY Corporate ini.
Di hari Jumat tgl 10 wah ternyata Flexy saya di blokir euy.. wah pasti masalah billing ini sih .. coba apalagi soalnya Billing Statement ternyata gak pernah sampai ke alamat yang ditulis di formulir. Alangkah kacaunya kan... karena hal stupid itu saya harus terganggu fasiltas komunikasi lokal. So akhirnya tgl 11 Juni 2005 tepatnya pagi hari Sabtu cerah ini saya ke Pusat Pelayanan Telkom yang di Jalan Setiabudhi depan Bank BCA pas banget dengan pertemuan Jalan Sukajadi dan Setiabudi. Ya sebetulnya saya sudah mengetahui masalahnya dimana kenapa TELKOM sampai harus blokir nomor saya. Yang paling MENYEBALKAN adalah sewaktu saya ke Kantor Telkom tersebut, mereka bilang sistem lagi down sehingga saya tidak BISA Membayar 2 bulan yang belum tertagihkan. Wah dongkolnya minta ampun !!!! Mau bayar gak bisa alhasil tetap di BLOKIR. Tetap saya harus tunggu sampai hari Senin

I have never been to Europe but once I got a chance to fly with KLM I took that chance. It was back from Singapore to home. The flight was KL835. Boeing 777-300 was the fleet well there is rare chance to flight with this kind of airplane for domestic fleet. Actually this is my second time flew with Boeing 777-300 it was the same destination from Singapore but with another airline which was EMIRATES. For you to expect a meal in flight please don't expect too much because KL835 departed at 16:10 and arrived in Cengkareng at about 16:50 WIB time. So you have to survive with tuna sandwich and an orange juice :)
One more thing... don't you expect much hospitality from air-stewardess. Even they are pretty but hard to give just a smile :(

So many times I passed this place by but not until yesterday, 23rd April 2005 eventually I stopped by for lunch. I had some visitors from Surabaya and anyway I have to find a place for lunch. If you have already visited Baso Lela and Waroeng Kopi you can keep going thru rocky road until you will find steep left turn. Otherwise you have to take the way to Dago Resort Residence and it is the first right turn, the road is not a smooth pavement. It was a macadam road but it is OK, you can go by sedan as well.
Parking lot was so scary man, I am telling you the truth because if you miss by a meter... then so long my friend.. hehehehe :p how scary ...better be watch by your self :)
The dishes actually Nasi Liwet (stated in Menu), it was two kind of Nasi Liwet, Nasi Liwet Ikan Asin and Nasi Liwet Ayam Jamur. Well if you don't know Nasi Liwet looks like it is cooked rice, the way cooking rice is by let the rice cooked inside the pot, its kind of baking the clay pot. So you will find brownish burnt rice inside the pot. Those of you who have traveled to other Asian Countries this kind of rice cook is usually called CLAY-POT RICE. Years ago one of my friend Eva had a cafe in Jalan Dago called Warung Kembang. It was Nasi Clay-pot is the main-course menu. Even it was served with some varieties flavour.So it is not the same rice you probably eat everyday using rice cooker. Sundanese people used to have Nasi Liwet when they in such emergency situation like camping, working in field or maybe just to lazy to cook. But usually they are using pan instead CLAY POT guess enamel ware is more convenience to be carried.
We were four of us and we ordered :
2 portion Nasi Liwet Ikan Asin
2 portion Nasi Liwet Ayam Jamur
4pcs Ayam Goreng
Cold and hot drinks

Lalapan of some cucumbers and selada with sambal is compliment. Well back to the name of this cafe Rumah Joglo. Joglo is derived from Javanese house it is a traditional Javanese house. So no wonder Lalapan is just two kind of vegetable.

The menu is not special, I don't know why it costed that much I mean its only baked rice get real ???
Maybe it need bit of strength when they serve the menu. From the kitchen to our table the waiter had to go by stairs, the places is like a garden because almost all we can saw is leaves. But the places actually was in a slope so you have to go down and up by stairs.
They view was not so good because half of horizon is people houses and the rest is city. Maybe if you visit this place it is better be at afternoon so you might see city light view from this place.
Anyway the food is not special but expensive... and also the place is not so cozy I mean if you want to spend hours here siting in a chair u probably think about twice. The chairs it is not cozy it is more like chair in your home when you are having meal.
For you who doesnt live in Bandung maybe this is such interesting cafe you want to visit.
All our orders cost about IDR 100.000 for this lunch with those dishes I mentioned before. So it is about IDR 25.000 each, is it cheap ? well what do you think ?

This is not my first visit to Sapo Oriental but today we had lunch. As usual greeter lead us to which table is available. Because we brought along our baby daughter with us so we picked the place that enough for baby stroller. Finally we took the table in the corner. Table is enough for for people I guess and we put baby stroller in the aisle.
These are what we ordered :
Sapo Cumi Cabe Hijau---This is okay even cabe hijau is more than cumi :(
Brocolly saus Kepiting--- delicious fresh brocolly and crab souce is strong
2 Nasi Putih
Wortel Jus
Iced Tea

Before our dishes ready they always put Kacang telor on table. This is not a compliment they will charge on that. One small plate contain about 20-30pcs kacang telor is IDR 3000. Thats a rip-off I dont understand why they are so stupid forcing people to eat kacang telor before having their order served. Also another waiter offered us some DIM SUM, okay we decided to try we take Hakaw (prawn inside) and Kaki Ayam. I had Hakaw and Yuke had Kaki ayam. Believe me those DIMSUM menu is not what we expected. And I think those overpriced. Hakaw cost IDR 8000 (3 pcs) and Kaki Ayam IDR 7000 (abt 4 pcs). And also the taste is nothing special I think almost tasteless except for the souce is bit hot.

Anyway this restaurant served fresh vegetable and meat but bit overpriced I think. If you are looking for fresh dishes served in BSM I think theres no other place we know. However we prefer Pagoda Restaurant somehow.

When it is time to get back home to Bandung, the first thing in my mind is to get back as fast as possible. So at 4th March of 2005 after taking a flight from Batam using Garuda Airways we have arrived at Cengkareng 15:10. So I was calling some agents to have some possible ways to get home fast. I mean fast.


There were some options :

1. Taking bus/cab to Gambir and take train to Bandung.
This would probably spend about 4-6 hours to reach Bandung from Cengkareng. And it costs about :
Shuttle bus from Cengkareng to Gambir IDR 10.000
Taxy to Cengkareng directly is about IDR 80.000
Ticket to Bandung starts from IDR 60.000
So Totally you should spend about IDR 200.000 totally if you see that range of time is about 6 hours you will need at least a meal.

2. Taking travel bus directly from Cengkareng. Cipaganti travel has this kind of service and it cost about IDR 100.000 to reach Bandung. But you have to book before and wait for their pickup.
Still it would probably to spend about 4-6 hours travel time to Bandung.
Total cost would be about IDR 125.000 if you will have a meal during travelling.

3. Taking a flight from Halim Perdanakusuma (formerly intl airport in Jakarta).
It would take a taxi to reach Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Southern Jakarta. It will cost us about IDR 80.000 even you are not alone, let say 4 of you taking a same cab/taxi.

Ticket fare is IDR 170.000 and IDR 15.000 airport tax.
So total cost would be IDR 300.000.
But since we are using ATR-42 (French made aeroplane, pressurized cabin) it would takes about 20minutes to reach Husein Sastranegara. So it is more than 7x faster than other options. And you just paying about twice the cost. Is it worth it ?

FYI : Theres another 2 airways has flight schedule to Bandung. They are Dearaya and Merpati. If you take Merpati airways you will be paying more for using CN-235. I would not recommend this for your own sake wellness :p

For you who want Nasi Padang in Bandung you should visit Kapau Jaya at Jalan Dipati Ukur. It is a nice place and afforadable padang cuisine. Actually Gule Kepala Kakap is the best menu I like. The best Gule Kepala Kakap in Bandung I have ever tasted. Because I always look around for fishes instead other kind of meat this Restaurant is choosen to be one of my favs. Also my wife like to have Gule Kepala Kakap as well.
It was served IDR 15000/dish. Well you can have other Padang menu like rendang, tunjang, cincang and belado.
The place is clean enough to have lunch.

Because of a big billboard that bugging our eyes finally me and my wife Yuke visited this resto at 6th Feb 2005 in the afternoon (ba'da Maghrib).
Well this building was a bankrupt Bank and was being auctioned to public. It must be at least 2-3 Milliard rupiahs. What we saw that 1st floor it was not a pleasant place to have dinner. The wall seem to be dirty and we found some flies flew around. I guess it just like having dinner in kaki lima.

We had these dishes for dinner :
Kangkung cah polos --it supposed to be Kangkung cah seafood, but waiter told us that the ran out fo seafood. Well I dont think so the time is late coz it was about 6pm.
Konro bakar.
Baronang bakar.
2 Nasi putih
Ice lemon tea.
Avocado Juice.

It took about half hour to have them served. First we got sambal for ikan bakar. We tasted a bit and it was so hot and it was fully belacan/terasi/fermented shrimp tasted which we dont really like too much.
We didnt get any hot tea coz we order some beverages. So you must ask them for warm tea instead.
Konro bakar was the one which come first. It was skinny Konro compare to Menteng Konro in Jakarta. 3 pcs bone with tight meat. Gosh how much pressure cooker today ? so we must chew harder for this meat.
Peanut sauce for Konro also taste terrible. They served some kind of soup for konro with mini stove so we thought it will be always served warm. But we remove the stove and saw theres nothing below the metal bowl to keep it warm. So it was a fake stove. I guess it would be better of to serve on a plastic bowl or ceramic one.
Baronang bakar is the one who came last. It was not bake well, inside still wet and the size is almost smaller than my palm.
Baronang bakar was priced IDR 27000 we found this overpriced.

This restaurant actually not a new one in city, it located at Setra Sari Mall C2 Northen Bandung. I didnt have a chance to visit there before.
This place was a SSC course place. Now it changed to a thai restaurant. Because we saw some fancy cars always parked so I and Yuke my wife tried to have dinner.
When we got there greaters are very hospital and bowed us. This is a first time we had dinner and got so much honors before.
After taking a table near stair to upstair we ordered
Straw Puff
Tom Yam Goong
Nasi goreng Kepiting
Ayam Kacang Mede
Lemon Squash
Ginger Tea Milk
I dont remember what was straw puff... I guessed some kind of vegi dishes. Thai food are sour and hot.. I like it so much.
Tom Yam Goong Soup is very good. I think the best I ever tasted in Bandung. Also Nasi Goreng Kepiting, I still could find a crab shell mixed with rice. But I didnt mind. Anyway this resto is something you must visit somedays. I will go along with you if you want. hehehehehe
